EMT jobs offer great satisfaction because at the end of the day we know that we are doing something for human welfare. Of course, a decent income is another great motivator for people who become emergency medical technicians. They also get a number of benefits, flexible working hours and the opportunity to do something respectable. But a number of my colleagues also say that they came into this field because they were inspired by the kind of impact medical personnel can have on the lives of people. Many have also joined because they could not afford medical school but had a passion for the healthcare field and were determined to join it.
I joined it because somebody very rightly pointed out that I am great at dealing with stressful situations (with my sense of humor) and I was also always good at science and interested in medical dramas. All this automatically somehow led me to enroll for training as a paramedic and then there was no looking back.

Making a career choice is hard. I would never lie to people and tell them that this is an easy choice. After all, there are thousands of different jobs out there. How will you know that the choice you make is the best one for you? How would you know whether there would not be a job you do not know about but which would be perfect for you? I often wondered whether I am actually on the right path. Sometimes I am sure I am, other times I think I should have followed another dream of mine instead of being so unorganized. I am now 28 years old and still the issue of career choices goes around in my head. Others are already sure about what they are doing. They have their job and even a family. I am yet to get to the point at which I could say: Yes, I am here and I will stay here. There is no other option for me. Sometimes I wish I could be like all the others and simply be satisfied, but I think that there is something bigger out there, waiting for me.

A typical medical assistant is going to work in the office of a professional physician. It is estimated that at least sixty percent of all medical assistants in the United States are going to work in these kinds of offices. These include some offices that are operated by individual doctors who need to hire assistants to help them out on a regular basis. A typical physicians office is going to be well controlled to where it will be lit properly and climate controlled. This is a necessity for the comfort of all people in an office. Also, the environments will be clean and safe to handle because the assistant will be responsible for many sanitation and sterilization procedures. The office is also smaller in size than a typical hospital environment. This means that a medical assistant will be more likely to deal with individual patients who need to be treated with different functions in mind.

Although ultrasonography has plenty of uses in the field of medicine, most people are only aware about its applications in pregnancy. As such, it has become popular as a diagnostic tool that assess soft tissues and tells the gender of a pre-natal baby. Unknown to many though, ultrasound technology is being use to treat musculoskeletal conditions as well. As a matter of fact, physical therapists are using them to help relieve muscle pains and spasms. In theory, the sound waves can reach deep muscle tissue, and encourage blood flow on that area. This will help heal the pain, and any injuries that might be present. During the treatment though you will not really be able to feel anything, because the sensation is just similar to what pregnant women experience during their ultrasound session. But with time, and with continuous visit to your physical therapist, a significant improvement can certainly be expected.
