Which to Choose Cloth or Disposable Nappies

July 25th, 2011

Your pregnancy week by week and you have just started your third trimester? Now is probably a good time to start thinking about if you will use disposable nappies or cloth for your baby. There are many advantage to both, we will look at them briefly.

Cloth nappies are very good on the environment. You only have to buy then once then wash and use again, saving you thousands of dollars a year. They also come in some amazing colours, and look really good. The modern cloth nappies are designed with a lining inside them which you simply take out and wash, they are much easier than the traditional cloth nappies.

Disposable nappies are very easy to use and handy when going out places. Wonderful if you just want to throw away your babies mess without thinking about it. However they can be rather expensive to purchase good quality ones that do not leak.

Take the time to look into both options and try a few cloth nappies to see if you like them.

Crying at Bath Time

May 5th, 2011

My kids love taking baths which is a relief because I know of a number of parents who struggle to get their kids in the water. Mine start asking in the early evening if they can take a bath which is great as it means I can get them washed up and into bed early.

The littlest one started crying recently though when I tried to wash her hair. She said it hurt her head and after having a closer look I could see that her scalp was in fact red after washing her hair. I though maybe I was using water which was too hot but now I’ve come to the conclusion that was the shampoo I was using.

I looked around on a few forums and some people suggested I switch to an organic shampoo. I never thought about using something like that before but I got a recommendation and have been using it for the last week. Surprisingly that has cleared up the problem completely and there is no more redness and no more tears.

The Jumperoo Models

February 16th, 2011

There are a few Jumperoo models available and the prices do differ. For example, the Laugh and Learn Jumperoo is more expensive than say, the Rainforest model. This is because the former has more activities and toys packed into the jumper compared to the latter.

The seat is more or less the same among all the Jumperoo models. They rotate in a 360 degree fashion so that your baby can reach all the toys around the jumper’s perimeter. It may take a while for your baby to learn how to turn the seat using her legs but over time she should be able to do so with ease.

Which model to buy boils down to your budget and what you think is attractive for your baby. All the models share the same basic features, so there is really not much of a difference at all, except for the outward appearance such as color, theme and toys.
